If only
I had
stayed
here
I’d have
known
what it
was like
To
live a
life of
happiness
Instead
of one
so full
of spite
"All my life's buried here, heap earth upon it"
If only
I had
stayed
here
I’d have
known
what it
was like
To
live a
life of
happiness
Instead
of one
so full
of spite
the future is unknown and is unfollowed the past.

It’s always fascinating to see where people end up. I can understand your words here but I can hardly ever see a good outcome for myself had I stayed “home.” It just goes to show how everyone has a story.
Great poem!

Thank you my friend.
To be fair I mostly share your misgivings about ‘home’. I love being back for a wee while but as time goes on more and more reminders of why I left crawl out from under the woodwork.
I fear a few more poems with a different tone may well ensue in the coming days … 🖤

I can’t stand the saying “You can’t go home again” but it’s so true, for better or worse. Hope you enjoyed the short time you were there though.

Well, I suppose ‘a change is as good as a rest’ as they say 👍🖤
