I’m
too
scared
to go
out
today
For
the
dark
thoughts
haven’t
gone away
I’m
worried
I’m so
far into
this
slump
That I’ll
be left
with no
choice
but to
jump
"All my life's buried here, heap earth upon it"
I’m
too
scared
to go
out
today
For
the
dark
thoughts
haven’t
gone away
I’m
worried
I’m so
far into
this
slump
That I’ll
be left
with no
choice
but to
jump
Just remember, when you’re thinking to jump: don’t. 💐

Made me think of Van Halen Jump. But I don’t think that’s useful in this situation. Take care 🤔💚

Perhaps not, but that did make me smile…
And that’s use enough for me 😁🖤

Not exactly the message you want to hear on the ledge 🤔
Glad it helped. Look after yourself. Getting dark out there 😉💚

No comfort, can I say in any way, to the pain that is heard in this line word for word….new found understanding but it wouldn’t go over w/majority well. Keep strong & help those who can carry along….{hugs}

This is quite an illustration of strength in the face of weakness (specifically perceived weakness.) The weakness is readily seen outside but the narrator knows that and doesn’t want to go there. It’s a chance not worth taking and sometimes that’s enough. That takes strength and courage to recognize.
Stay well, my friend.

It’s been a while since I’ve been treated to one of your critiques my friend – and this one is inciteful as always.
One thing I do like is how you always seem to pick up on the strength in my writing – something that I honestly don’t feel when I write it and am blind to seeing myself.
Not that all of my work here is autobiographical, of course, but having your perspective on my words really does help me think things through – both in writing and in life…
Thank you 🖤

I try not to assume anyone is completely autobiographical in their poetry unless they explicitly say so. That’s why I try to refer to the “I’s” in first-person poems as narrators. Still, poetry can cover so much in so few words that it all feels real at times. And hey, you’re especially good at the craft. If any of my friends are feeling happy, I want them to enjoy it. If any of them are down I want to help if I can, rather they’re here or who-knows-where behind the computer.

I’m so glad to have you here C.D, not only as a reader, erstwhile critic but also as a WP friend.
It makes me feel much more secure both as a writer and a person.
Thank you 🖤
