Out Of My Hands

There wouldn’t be any problem

If I didn’t wake up tomorrow

At least I wouldn’t be in pain

Or suffocating in this sorrow

  1. Everybody else would, though. Be in pain. But yeah, people get to that point. It’s incredibly sad if someone feels it’s their best option, but I can’t bring myself to say that it is wrong.

    1. You are absolutely correct. Nobody ever did it unless experiencing such extreme suffering that it counteracted all of the obvious reasons not to do it, plus basic human instinct.

I’ve thought about the fact that humans put animals out of their suffering when it’s more humane to do so. When somebody ends their life they are only doing the same thing. And it’s only necessary that they feel there’s no other option in that moment. Which is why support is so important. Ultimately you can’t judge for another person whether there’s other options, only help them try to create other options.

      1. Yes, this is a topic I have pondered too, not least because one of my daughter’s friends did so, when they were both aged about 13.
It is perverse indeed that people are happy to create a world which drives people to this extreme, yet those same people balk when someone goes ahead and carries it through.
