With the cost of living rising
And my prospects going down
It may well be time
For me to leave
This tired old humdrum town
Overdrawn
Another
day
Another
dollar
Fuck
knows why
We even
bother

Lol I used to work with an old guy in a Sainsbury’s Local whose first words whenever he saw you were “Another day, another dollar” then do this weird face. I used to silently curse the downer and the cliché in equal measure!
But yeah it’s one thing struggling to get by when fighting for benefits you deserve, but I am in awe and wonder at the people here working so much just to struggle so much. It’s so bleak.

“Oh why don’t you get into the medical profession, nursing maybe? They are never short on demand! Maybe teaching?”
“Are you crazy? I can’t afford to be a nurse or a teacher!”
