In an
Attempt
To convince
Herself
That it really
Was ok
She sat down
With the required
Amount
To eat
Her feelings
Away
"All my life's buried here, heap earth upon it"
In an
Attempt
To convince
Herself
That it really
Was ok
She sat down
With the required
Amount
To eat
Her feelings
Away
What day even is it?
She said
As she opened the fridge door
I’ve got no idea
He said
But I can’t eat any more
You will feel much better
She said
After a drink and something to eat
There’s no point in feeding me up
She said
For I have accepted defeat
Little Miss Pitiful
Too busy to stop,
Too bored to stay.
Too broken to fight,
For yet another day.

I will quite happily sit here
Enjoying all this food and wine
But you should remember
That come next November
The last laugh will be mine
A Waste Of Money
Dearly
beloved
We
are
gathered
here
today
To
witness
this
couple’s
happiness
We
must
remember,
of course,
That
in a
year
they’ll
divorce
And
we’ll
have
forgotten
all of this
sappiness

For a macaroni pie
I knew

But when you ordered
A pizza crunch
I knew then
You were the one
How
do I
love
thee?
Let me
count
the
ways
It’s a
lot more
than
spaghetti
But
not as
much as
bolognese
Resist
that
urge
To
binge
and
purge
Put
the box
back
under
the bed
Before
the
demons
emerge
And
your
emotions
splurge
Find a
pen and
start
writing
instead
Sweating again
And feeling sick
All because of you
You little prick
It’s so peaceful here.
Quiet. Serene.
If only the incessant chatter in my head would quieten down,
I might just be able to enjoy it.
The warmth of the sun on your face,
The anticipation of a road trip with friends,
The promise of tall tales around the campfire.
It’s the little things that bring the most joy.
