I look back now

On that day and laugh

As I picture me cutting

Myself in half

Trying to please

You and your friends

Desperate, somehow

To make amends

But now I know

It wasn’t down to me

And I’ve got myself better

Mentally

So I think of that time

With a grin

That beast within
