Even On Good Days

It’s never too far away

That shadow

I see it from the corner

Of my eye

An ever present reminder

Of what we lost

And when we had

To say goodbye

Mourning

Darkness
casts a
shadow
over my
head

As it
does
over
my
heart

Thoughts
and
dreams
of you
abound

As does
sorrow
that
we’d to
part

Deciduous

If
only
you
could
come
back
to me

Like
the
leaves
that
grow
on the
cherry
tree

Standing
outside
our
house

You
can’t
know
how
happy
I’d
be

If
once
more
your
face
I could
see

Standing
outside
our
house

Flashback

The
figure
creeps
around
outside

As I
watch
the
darkness
descend

I lie
there
rigid,
fraught
with fear

As
I know
how this
will
end

Mourning

Darkness
casts a
shadow
over my
head

As it
does
over
my
heart

Thoughts
and
dreams
of you
abound

As does
sorrow
that we
had to
part

Disneyland

So it’s
off to
the land
of no
return

Where
shadows
loom and
nightmares
burn

Where
evil
rules and
darkness
creeps

Where
lost souls
lurk and
happiness
sleeps

Happier

Perhaps we’d
have been
happier
as strangers,

For never
having met.

Perhaps we’d
have been
happier
as strangers,

With nothing
to regret.

The Reverse

I’ve never felt happiness,
I don’t know what it is.

I’ve never seen happiness
But I’m sure that it’s not this.
