There’s no need to worry

She said

I’m not quite on the brink

I just needed peace and quiet

So I came up here to think

Well, that is good to hear

He said

As I was getting quite concerned

And when I saw you leaning over

I have to say my stomach churned

I can see how it looked

She said

But you’ll be reassured to know

I didn’t have any real intention

Of actually letting go

Then, if that’s really true

He said

Let’s both just walk back down

I think I’d be far happier

To see you on solid ground

As I stand here

Taking snaps

Comparing them

To years past

I am struck

By the magnitude

Of how much I now

Love my solitude

betwixt

blether

Kiss
amidst
this

weather

Until
we
come
undone

The Road To Happiness

So it’s off

country

troubles

Perhaps

As the hurt starts to subside

And the pain begins to fade

I’m never too far

From the reminder

Grief is still the sharpest blade

You get used to it, you know.
Being on your own.
Plus, no one sees you cry.
Which helps.
