In a way it’s easier

To still see you every day

For as we get both older

My heart grows colder

And doesn’t hurt in the same way

I can bear most things in life

But it kills me every time

To know no matter what I do

There’s one in every office

Whose presence elicits a grimace

And in mine it’s you

Who never ceases to

Push me to my limits

The Irritant

It actually
hurts to
listen to you

Let alone
look you
in the eye

Please just
leave me

to fry
