I just watched Robert the Bruce the other day, don’t know how historically true it was, however it was a coming together of clans that won Scotland’s freedom. I liked that though he was “king” he never had a castle but lived amongst the people.

I don’t hear it with it’s lyrics too often, usually just the pipes. Then Flower of Scotland is typically the opposite–frequently sung but don’t hear an instrumental version too much 🤷♂️ I guess y’all and the rest of the world want to keep us on our toes 😄

It’s definitely one you’d hear on the pipes more often than any other way, but the lyrics really are beautiful I think.
I guess as it doesn’t lend itself as easily to the insertion of a swear word or two, Flower of Scotland always wins out on sporting occasions! 😉🖤
