With one
hand
pressed
against
the door
I try
to work
out who
I love
more
And in
that split
second
I decide
to stay
I throw
my one
chance at
happiness
away
"All my life's buried here, heap earth upon it"
With one
hand
pressed
against
the door
I try
to work
out who
I love
more
And in
that split
second
I decide
to stay
I throw
my one
chance at
happiness
away

Haha thanks!!
I was deliberating between using the word ‘one’ or ‘only’ here…
Seems I ended up with neither!!

Never seen the movie but I have to drive through the county a few times a year. I can see how it would be a good backdrop for content like the film or your poem (which, per usual, is great!)

I’ve not had the pleasure of visiting the U.S yet.
Perhaps one day… š¤

The moral of the story seems to be “One should never burn their bridges behind them” — but if my comment’s a bridge too far, pardon it for being under par.
