Robbed of what’s right
You certainly have been
Hard to believe
It’s not because of your skin
As corruption and greed
Handed your rival the win
With no case left to plead
You took it on the chin
You deserve better
"All my life's buried here, heap earth upon it"
Robbed of what’s right
You certainly have been
Hard to believe
It’s not because of your skin
As corruption and greed
Handed your rival the win
With no case left to plead
You took it on the chin
You deserve better

Definitely sport related – as well as injustice. Two of my favourite themes 😉🖤

Ah, not Lennox Lewis.
Lewis Hamilton – Formula 1 motor racing driver. I’ll let you Google 👍🖤

He took it like a champ, that was the best thing to take away from it. Everything else was a mess, it was a slow motion car crash that was unfolding inevitably. So slow on the decisions.
I had the feeling he was planning to retire if he won. Wonder what he’ll do now.

I wanted Verstappen to win until Brazil and Saudi Arabia btw. But the ending was just a big anticlimax. Anticlimax Verstappen 😒.

To have the championship decided in such a way (especially at the end of this particular season) was unsporting, unfair and is totally unjustified in my opinion.
Saying that, I wouldn’t want to see Verstappen stripped of the title now either – even though I am not a fan.
It’s just a lose – lose situation created by an abuse of power, a desire for ratings (and therefore even more money) and blatent ineptitude by those who really should know better.
It’s infuriating and tiresome all at the same time. I may well be done with F1 now.
Hamilton has long been an inspiration both on and off the track. Who knows what he will do next but either way – he’ll always be my champ! 😊🖤

Same, on everything. I watch it pretty neutrally and was ready to be happy with either Lewis or Max winning, but from the moment the safety car came in early (or even just the bloody boring final race up to that point!) I’ve been underwhelmed as what happened felt like neither of those results! It just wasn’t fun at all. And hearing Masi’s snarky voice just topped it off 😆.
The main thing I’ve come away with is even more respect for Lewis (and his Dad). Really amazing to see how they handled it. It was imagining being in Lewis’ position that made the whole thing so horrifying for me.
I also considered (again) stopping watching it, but damn I’ve been looking forward to those new regulations for ages now! And now I’ve heard the news that Mercedes won’t appeal but they’ll work on trying to help improve the situation— I’m interested to see what changes occur first. Formula 1’s usually pretty good at problem-solving and it’s one of the things I like about it. Remember the F1 covid ventilators! 😯. This event could be the tipping point they needed to create much more widespread improvement which we may not otherwise have had. One can hope! New regulations + new rules system would be really refreshing.
And watching Lewis approach next year will be yet more inspiration :). I actually feel like him and Max may have even more respect for each other now through the shared crazy experience.
