I did love someone once
She was beautiful inside and out
The life and soul of the party
Her passion never in doubt
But one day she grew cold
And her light began to fade
So now I no longer love her
Because of who it was she betrayed
"All my life's buried here, heap earth upon it"
I did love someone once
She was beautiful inside and out
The life and soul of the party
Her passion never in doubt
But one day she grew cold
And her light began to fade
So now I no longer love her
Because of who it was she betrayed
A wonderfully written piece of poignant poetry.

I don’t mean to be insensitive. The image came to my mind when I read this piece was: a person is having a go with a free standing punching bag, and the person got knocked back time after time. The person eventually realised they hate themselves a lot, but it’s silly to keep punching themselves.

The intention was imagine it in a comical way, not a serious way. Oh Lord, did I express myself clearly? 🥸
