(Slave To The) Algorithm

I guess that’s why folks use Bumble

Grindr, Tinder and Hinge

Virtually searching for a fumble

For digital bodies on which to binge

Blindfolded

They
say
there’s
someone
for
everyone

But
how
can
that
possibly
be?

I’m
surprised
anyone
can
find
anyone

Trapped
in
this
insanity

  1. Answer: we can’t. We are lonelier than ever!

I was recently doing a lot of genealogy research. It’s weird looking up census records of ancestors with their large families, never-ending streams of kids in some cases lol. But what they all have in common is regardless of kids or not they had no trouble in finding someone early in life! From a much, much smaller pool of people.

I guess even when you met your partner times were very different right. 💙

Hopefully my optimism will increase as I become re-connected with the community through mental health groups and volunteering :).

        1. Yeah, I was 19 when I met my partner. He had to wait a whole 26 years to meet me! 😁😁

I’ve never done online dating – not sure I ever could. I’d never find a profile I was happy with – let alone a partner! 🤣🖤

          1. Ooh an older guy. I guess the best things come to those who wait after all 😉. And go too soon, always :(.

Haha and you know the profiles are all full of shit. Spare yourself the horror! It’s just CVs for dating, full of common tropes and obvious gamesmanship. Lots of stress and even more wasted time. And this is from a male perspective, it’s 10x worse for women dating men. Sorry needed to get it off my chest xD. 💙

            1. Gone too soon for sure 😔

Well, consider it off your chest my friend. And I’ll definitely be sparing myself that horror for sure. Sounds exactly like I thought it would be – horrific! 😒🖤
