Well, I guess one way of looking at it is that loving someone is a wonderful thing which makes us, in turn feel wonderful, when we are able to express that to others.
Another (more cynical) way of looking at it is that a person’s desire to feel good within ourselves is the only motivation in expressing love for someone else when it’s not actually truly meant. If that makes any sense lol! 😁🖤

Yeah, it both scenarios do make sense & actually exist. The difference between them, as I see it, is that the first is a permanent feeling which stays even if the relationship goes wrong somewhere along the line, whereas the second is extremely temporary.
