Living with Hypochondria

There is something wrong with me.
I just know it.
I don't feel right.
I haven't for sometime now.
I don't know what it is.

I get headaches.
Crushing, pounding headaches.
Cannot finish cigarettes,
because of the headaches.

I'm always itching,
Skin crawling.
Can't stay in one position for too long,
as my bones ache.
Sickness burns in my stomach,
constantly queasy.
My sleep patterns are disturbed.

I have bruises on my arms and legs,
Lumps and bumps everywhere.
I feel dizzy all the time,
Stumbling when I walk.
I cannot concentrate my mind.
My own wheeze wakes me up.

There is something wrong with me.
I just know it.
I don't feel right.
I haven't for sometime now.
I don't know what it is.

But there's no way I can see a doctor.
I'm too scared for that.
They might just confirm I'm really ill,
after all...

  1. Poetically, you described a great deal of symptoms, Hypochondria is just a term, empty of content, an extremely misleading term. And they like to use it -whoever, even the Mds- when they don’t know the root of a problem. But they have to say something, to give an answer, a stupid answer, to excuse their title which is : “Specialists”. So, they give you the wrong impression, that you’re weird or psycho.
Ps : I like your ramblings, and i will follow you, despite the fact there in no “About” page. Take care and enjoy. Thank you.

    1. Hi! Thank you for reading!

I’m always surprised when people like my ramblings and I find other people’s thoughts in them really interesting! 👍
I wrote this poem many years ago – when I was very young. It’s not my finest work but I suppose it is indicative of how I felt at a certain time….
There are a few different reasons why I don’t have an ‘about’ page, but it’s mostly as I’m more comfortable presenting my words than myself…

Thank you for your follow. That really means a lot to me! ☺️🖤

      1. You’ re very welcome, dear. I don’t judge you for not having an “About”. Just saying, since i rare follow people without an about, even if it is a fake one. However, when i like the poetry, i Follow.

Ps : What people do not suspect is the spinal changes. Not even the Md’s. Just saying. I wish you great health, happiness and longevity. Thank you for answering back.

Well, I’m glad that my writing was enough to earn your follow. I’ll try and keep that standard up! 👍
I look forward to reading more of your pieces too.
Thank you for the advice! 🖤
